The NFL has led headlines all across the country. The player have taken it upon themselves to ensure that they protest as much as they possibly can. Most of it stems from the fact that President Trump came out during a rally in Alabama last week and called out those protesting. He went on to say that they needed to be fired. His comments are correct and many agree with the notion that these protests are getting out of control.
But the NFL simply does not care. Instead of trying to calm problems that people may have, they instead are adding fuel to the fire. They have announced that they will be running an ad that promotes unity. This comes as an obvious dig towards President Donald Trump.
“We think this is the single best response to demonstrate what we are about,” an NFL spokesman said to CNN. “It stands in stark contrast to some who practice the politics of division.”
It seems like they are moving in the wrong direction as a league. They need to be listening to their fans opinions on the matter as well. But instead, all they care about is the players. We can tell that the people who watch the games are not happy. That is why the ratings are so bad and have not been so bad in decades.
Here is a transcript of the ad that will air on Sunday Night Football on NBC:
“Inside these lines, we don’t have to come from the same place to help each other reach the same destination. Inside these lines, we may have our differences, but recognize there’s more that unites us. Inside these lines, it’s a game of inches, and there’s no such thing as an easy yard when you’re fighting to move forward. Inside these lines, we’re not only defined by our victories, but by the way we handle our defeats. Inside these lines, we can bring out the best in each other, and live united — Inside these lines.”
This seems like a way for them to make even more people mad. What do you think about the ad?
