GOP Rep. Garret Graves of Louisiana, has made a statement saying that he expects Steve Scalise to get back to work in September. That would be a smooth return only 2 months after getting shot at the Republican’s congressional baseball practice in June.

This is what Graves said on WWL Radio today, (Monday.) :
“He’s coming back next month. So we’ll see how that goes. He may be fighting off doctors at the hospital to come.” “Steve is a fighter. His attitude and spirits have remained very high.”
A GOP aide told The Daily Caller News Foundation that he said he was going to focus on inpatient rehabilitation, and that his office will be providing updates on his health and when returning will be appropriate.
Scalise went through a multitude of surgeries and blood transfusions saying that he “was as critical as you can be when he came in” after being shot in the hip.
He was one of five who were injured during the attack. The shooter was identified as 66-year-old James Hodgkinson who took aim at over a dozen GOP lawmakers at the baseball field.
Graves stated that it was a miracle that more people weren’t injured as a result of the shooting, noting that Hodgkinson didn’t even manage to let off much ammunition before security detail took care of the shooter.
Steve Scalise will return to work in September. Remember, he was shot by a former Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer.

“It is a miracle that he sent off, according to Trent Kelly, perhaps 80 rounds, the gunman, 80 rounds from a high caliber rifle, and the only person that died was him. That is amazing,” he said.
