A horrifying new video sheds new light on the brutal gun death of British Jihadi Thomas Evans – known as the ‘White Beast’ because of his savagery.
The footage shows a fierce gun battle waged in pitch dark – with bullets zipping past the camera, tracer fire lighting up the night sky and the deafening rattle of machine guns all around.
The video also shows the 25-year-old smiling as he embraces fellow Islamist fighters who have crossed over from Al Shabaab’s Somalian stronghold before the battle.
The film was intended for use on a website to boast of the jihadists’ latest success – but instead shows the lead up to his violent death, along with ten other militants.
His group had been operating along the Kenyan border with Somalia for two and a half years.
They were said to have brought carnage to the town of Mpeketoni last year, killing 70 people. Survivors were said to clearly remember the sole white men among the violent group.
“He had a machete and a gun,” Kimothe Ngorgoe, whose son was among those butchered, told ITV News.
“I saw him slice the neck of one of our watchmen. I don’t understand why a British man would come here to kill us.”
There are thought to be as fifty Brits among al-Shabaab’s ranks.
The video he shot is now being studied by intelligence services in Africa and Europe, who want to know what links he might have had with other British radicals, most infamously Samantha Lewthwaite, the so called White Widow, and wife of the 7/7 bomber Germaine Lindsay.
